This weekend I was booked to perform at the Worcester Warriors Rugby Club in Worcester for a 60th birthday party. Another magician had recommended me because he wasn’t able to make it that night. It’s always nice to be recommended by magicians that I have worked with as it tells me that they enjoy what I do.
Over 110 people were at the party, which also had a disco and a Michael Buble impersonator. The Worcester Warriors Rugby Club was a really nice venue to work at; very modern with plenty of room. Here’s an email I just received from the couple who booked me:
I don’t work that much in Worcester, especially considering I live nearby, so it’s always nice to work there!

I recently performed at a wine bar in Cirencester for a birthday party. It was a fancy dress party and the guests went all out! So much so that I felt a little underdressed in my suit!
After the party, Lucy (the lady who booked me) sent me the following note:
Lucy and her husband are coming to see me in An Evening of Deception in Cheltenham next year. I’m looking forward to seeing them there.

This weekend, I performed at an event in Newham-on-Severn, Gloucestershire. The downside of being a Gloucestershire magician is the amount of traveling I have to do, so I love working close to home! To be able to finish a show and then be home 20 minutes later is a joy that can’t be explained in words!
Last Sunday I performed at a garden party in Newham-on-Severn, Gloucestershire. Guests were mingling in the garden and sat at tables, enjoying the buffet. Here’s a quick note that I received the next day from Chris, the organiser of the party:

This weekend, I performed close-up at a joint 40th birthday party in Great Milton, near oxford. While I don’t blog about every show I’ve performed, this is one that stands out as the crowd were especially fun that night.
I performed for two hours, mingling with the 150 or so guests. I performed magic with cards and coins and got asked back to perform for several of the groups again, which is always a good sign that they enjoyed it.
The day after the party, I received a really nice email from one of the ladies who booked me. Here’s a very small extract from her email:
I don’t work all that often in Oxford, but as it’s not far from Gloucester, I’m always happy to do so! So, if you’re looking for a close-up magician in Oxford, please get in touch!

I recently performed magic in Stroud for a 30th birthday party. I was the surprise element of the party and performed for a couple of hours, mingling with the guests. At several points in the evening, I had almost everyone at the party crowding around me as I performed magic for the birthday girl. It was a lot of fun!
Here’s a brief extract from an email I received from the lady that booked me:
The photograph below is halfway through a trick at the party, where I turn the deck of cards into a solid block of glass … whilst someone is holding it!

This week I performed for well-known Gloucester-based web hosting company, Fasthosts Internet Ltd. Their accounting team were having a teambuilding day at the Hatton Court Hotel in Gloucester and the Chief Finance Officer asked me to come along to entertain the team for an hour or so before their meal.
Here’s an email I received commenting about my performance:

I recently performed in Clifton for a 50th birthday party. I performed at the Avon Gorge Hotel, which overlooks the great Clifton Suspension Bridge. There were about 50 people at the party, all seated around tables. I performed between the courses of the meal and had lots of fun with the attendees who were all out for a great night!
Here’s a brief extract from the email I received from the person who booked me:
I perform a lot in Bristol and will be returning several times over the next few weeks!

Over Christmas, I performed for Moore, Allen and Innocent; a Gloucestershire-based company. I performed magic during their Christmas meal at the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester. Here’s a note that I received from the organiser of the party:
Someone came up to me recently and spoke about the luncheon and how one of the tricks was “not possible” and concluded, rather ruefully that it was indeed magic.A great event made even better by a great magician! -Keith Winmill

Last weekend I returned to Hereford to perform close-up magic at a birthday party. This time, I performed at the Merton Hotel in the centre of Hereford.
There were about 75 people of all ages at the party and the audience were all incredibly nice. As some guests were standing in a reception room and others were sat at tables in another room, it gave me the perfect opportunity to perform both styles of magic that I enjoy. My job is to make sure everyone at a party has a great time, which is always helped when I’m having fun myself!
Here’s a brief extract of a really nice email that I received from the hosts of the incredibly successful party:

This Saturday I made my way up to Derbyshire to perform at a party for about 100 people, who filled various rooms of a really nice restaurant. Derby is a reasonable drive for me, but it was well worth it as everyone at the party was really nice and up for a good time.
Here’s a brief extract from Alicia, the lady who hired me to perform at the party:
Once I had finished work for the night, I was invited to stay around for some food. As I was eating a bread roll, I got caught off guard by a table who demanded an encore! Not wanting to disappoint them, I put my roll down, had someone write his name on the card and shuffled it into the deck. “It would be amazing if my card ended up in your bread roll,” the man quipped. He was right … it would be amazing. I didn’t say another word; instead I just nodded down at the roll and allowed him to pick it up and do the rest. The table went crazy, the guy wanted to keep the roll and the signed card so I left on a high … and very hungry!
