Card Magician Hire

Dec/10

11

Some event organisers specifically want to hire a card magician. I specialise in performing and eventing card tricks and have been lucky enough to travel the world performing and teaching them to magicians. I have had over 100 of my own card tricks published in books, magazines and DVDs for other card magicians, so have a large repertoire of sleight of hand card magic.

When hired as a card magician, I only perform tricks from a genuine, unprepared deck of cards. I don’t use any secretly gimmicked decks of cards that you may have seen sold at magic shops. Everything I perform is done using pure sleight of hand, which I have practiced over the past fifteen years.

I’ve entertained groups as small as two or three, right up to a group of over a thousand people. Card magic can be entertaining, fooling, exciting and funny! Feel free to contact me using the link above to talk about my card magic and sleight of hand performances.

How Far Will You Travel?

Nov/10

8

“How far North will you travel?” someone recently asked at a wedding. My response: “Iceland!”.

One of the reasons that it took me so long to become a professional, full-time close-up magician was that I had a fear of being sat in the car all day, every day. I quickly got used to that, however, and am now more than happy to travel wherever anyone wants to hire me. I recently bought a new car and within the first week had put 1,500 miles on the clock! It’s a lot, but it’s all part of the job.

I don’t put any hidden fees into my performances; the fee I quote is the fee that you pay so you won’t be stung with any secret travel costs. Also, you can be comfortable that I’ll arrive nice and early to get refreshed and be on top form, wherever I have to travel to.

That’s not limited to the UK either; I’ve performed in Las Vegas, Florida, Cyprus, Barbados, Portugal and more over the past couple of years. Visit my hire a magician page and we’ll talk!

Christmas 2010 is approaching

Sep/10

13

I’ve already seen restaurants advertising their Christmas menues and shops stocking Christmas items. These things put fear into professional magicians because it means that we’re gearing up for the busiest time of year! Most professional magicians end up working almost every day in December (sometimes even performing at more than one event) so it’s an incredibly busy time. My diary is already starting to fill up and I got my first booking for a Christmas party months ago!

How to guarantee getting a magician for your Christmas party

The answer is simple: book now! I still have free dates in my diary, as do many other professional magicians that I know. Therefore, if you get in touch now, I’ll definitely be able to help you as if I’m not available, I’ll be able to tell you some other magicians that are.

If you wait until November or December, most magicians will have already filled the key dates for Christmas parties, so it’s definitely worth acting quick!

5 Questions to Ask a Close-Up Magician

Jul/10

13

Here are five questions that you should always ask a close-up magician before hiring them:

1. Are you a professional close-up magician and how often do you perform?

2. Have you performed in similar venues and at similar events to mine?

3. Are there any hidden charges?

4. Are your timings flexible in case we need to change the time of your performance last minute?

5. Do you have any feedback from other clients?

I’m a close-up magician, so feel free to ask me any of those questions, and more! You can call or email me and I’d be happy to provide detailed, honest answers to all your questions about hiring me.

Wedding Magician Gloucester

Jul/10

7

Looking for a great way to entertain guests at your wedding? There are hundreds of Gloucester weddings happening every year and I’m always happy to be on hand to create an amazing experience every single time. If you’re getting married in the Cotswolds, Gloucester, Cheltenham or anywhere else in Gloucestershire, I’d love to be part of making your wedding fun and memorable.

Here are a few reasons why I think I’m the perfect choice for a Gloucester wedding magician:

  • I live in Gloucester so can easily help out at the last minute.
  • I have performed at most of the Gloucester wedding venues and know them (and often their staff) well.
  • I have been featured on Gloucestershire radio stations and in Gloucestershire newspapers and websites.
  • I have testimonials from many people in Gloucestershire and would be happy to put you in touch with other Gloucester-based couples if you’d like to ask them questions about my performance.
  • I am one of a select few professional Gloucester wedding magicians
  • I don’t charge travel expenses so am often a little more inexpensive than magicians who have to travel to your wedding in Gloucester.

Inexpensive Close-Up Magicians

Jul/10

Every industry suffers from the same problem: newcomers or people who don’t get much business post crazily low prices on their website in order to attract attention. For example, over the last couple of days I’ve seen a close-up magician who claims to travel anywhere in the country for £99, and another for £149.

The truth is; a good, professional close-up magician will never quote his or her prices on their website (and to be honest, would never charge £99!) and would never have a one-price fits all scheme. In order to give your event the proper attention required (instead of just turning up and doing a few tricks), the magician needs to talk to you personally (over phone or email) to fully understand the event and your requirements before giving a bespoke price to perform at your event.

I have previously hired close-up magicians myself (for corporate events for my old employer and for my own private parties) and I quickly learned that price should only be part of the deciding factor. When hiring a magician, I was looking for someone absolutely astounding, someone memorable and someone who would do the best job possible at the event. That someone would never charge £99!

I normally reply to price enquiry emails within an hour or two if they’re sent on a weekday (weekends and evenings take longer as I’m normally performing), so if you’d like a bespoke, yet competitive quote to hire a close-up magician feel free to get in touch!

Hire a Magician Last Minute

Jun/10

Venue: sorted. Photographer: sorted. Disco: sorted. What about the magician?!

If you’ve left booking a close-up magician to the last minute, don’t fear; I’m here to help. My schedule tends to fill up pretty early for key dates so it’s not always possible for me to perform at your event when you book last minute. However, I have always been able to find a magician last minute for you by contacting my professional magician colleagues on your behalf. I am in constant contact with the best close-up magicians in the UK, so it’s always easy for me to find a magician for you.

So if you’re looking for a last minute wedding magician, or a close-up magician for a corporate event that your boss gave you two days to organise; I can always help. Give me a call and if I’m not available, I’ll help find you a last minute magician!

An Early Christmas Magician!

May/10

13

Last week I confirmed my first booking for Christmas 2010. To many people the idea of booking Christmas party entertainment in May probably sounds crazy; but it really is the only way to ensure that your chosen close-up magician is available to perform at your Christmas party.

This particular event will see five close-up magicians performing at the party. Given that December is always the busiest month for magicians, we never get to see each other toward the end of the year so it’s always nice to be working with other close-up magicians so that we can spend some time with each other.

The key Christmas party dates are normally the last three Fridays and Saturdays before Christmas. Therefore, if you know that your company is going to organising a Christmas party this year, why not nudge them in my direction?

I’m looking forward to a busy Christmas and hope that I’ll be able to perform at your party.

Professional Professional Magician

Apr/10

30

I’m a professional magician, which by definition means that magic is my fulltime job. However, of even more benefit to you is that I’m a professional professional magician Here’s what I mean:

  • I always arrive at all performances early
  • I’m always dressed smartly, and for the occasion
  • I act professionally around your guests
  • I have a modern performance style suitable for even your most prized business contacts
  • All the magic that I perform is well-rehearsed and has been performed thousands of times all over the world.

There are a lot of close-up magicians that advertise, but I hope that you choose a professional close-up magician like me!

Real Gloucester Magician

Apr/10

16

If you search on Google for “Gloucester Magician” you’ll be surprised to see twenty or thirty magicians advertising as Gloucester-based magicians. However, these magicians aren’t based in Gloucestershire; they simply have lots of pages on their site covering all different areas in the country allowing them to pretend to be from any part of the country.

If you’d like to hire a genuine Gloucester-based close-up magician, look no further! I am based just outside of Gloucester and regularly perform at most Gloucester and Cheltenham venues. Being a regular at such venues means that as soon as I arrive at your event, I am ready to start performing, know exactly where everything is and even have gotten to know the staff at many of the venues. This makes everything run that little bit smoother.

So look out for imitations; there’s only one professional close-up magician in this town!
