This year’s An Evening of Deception was more than one evening; it was three! Steve Knibbs compered and introduced the four performers (of which I was one of them) and Paul Duggan expertly staged managed the show. It was held at The Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham; a perfect venue for magic of this kind.
Working in the same theatre for three nights, doing exactly the same show was a rare treat. We sold out about a month in advance so we knew that we’d be performing for packed-out crowds each night, which was also a great experience.
What I didn’t expect was the sheer number of magicians that would come to see the show. We had magicians in from Bristol, Reading, Bath, Southampton and more … traveling specifically to see us. The crowds (including many of the magicians!) were great and were a lot of fun to perform for. I look forward to organising the show again.
